X-Ray and Special Imaging

Special imaging helps us assess your pet better.  As veterinarians, we are trained to use our five senses to evaluate your pet.  However, even the best training does not have x-ray vision.  Fortunately for your pet, Allure DOES have x-ray vision.  With the use of radiographs, ultrasounds, and CT scans, we obtain images of the inside of your pet and that can substantially aid in the understanding of cause of an illness or lead us to an optimal treatment plan.  Any recommended imaging will be explained and copies of all images can be sent to your email address or to your family veterinarian for additional viewing.

DIGITAL RADIOLOGY

Digital x-ray machines help veterinarians by providing precise, accurate, and detailed images that can be resized and manipulated by computer software. This allows the doctor to better identify underlying issues which can aid in creating an appropriate treatment plan for the patient.

CT SCAN

“CT” stands for computed tomography which means to “picture a plane” . CT scanners generates two – and three – dimensional cross-sectional images of a patient using X-ray technology. CT scans allow our specialists to do several things including:

  • Assess extent of trauma, bleeding of chest, abdomen or head
  • Detect or confirm the presence of a tumor
  • Determine size and location of tumor and whether it has metastasized (or spread)
  • Plan therapy or surgery
  • And more…
